Artist Statement
For this assignment, we had to pick from a list of brands that were already in their respective market, and pair it with a category that does not exist in that current brand. As a Jack Daniels drinker myself, I opted with my favorite on the list but choosing the category to pair it with was the difficult part. Jack Daniels is known for their age old whiskey so instead of doing something to pair a drink with, I decided to expand the Jack Daniels portfolio to now include their new Aroma Series. The Aroma Series includes three different scented candles, the trio being Apple, Fire (Cinnamon) and Honey. Along with the candle trio, Jack Daniels is offering Honey scented Incense Cones, Barley scented Air Freshener, Essential oils and Incense Sticks. The Jack Daniels Aroma line is intended to bring together our rich tasting whiskeys with other ingredients involved in distillation.
The second half of this project was comprised of creating a Point of Purchase (P.O.P) Display and incorporating a media piece to that display as well. The intention of P.O.P display created is to pay homage to Jack Daniels long history. The background being a barn symbolizes the barns in which the Jack Daniels Whiskey is stored in during its barrel aging process with their higher end whiskeys. The P.O.P display is intended to be used in niche markets to differentiate ourselves from the competition.
